It has taken about two years, but I have finally warmed up to this place. I'll always miss Cape Breton, but I really must open my heart to the sights, sounds and culture of this new province. I regret nothing, thus far, and I look forward to a long life in this beautiful part of Canada. Seems we Capers aren't THAT isolated after all, eh? =)

This was taken on a recent fishing trip I was invited to join in on, one morning. Taken at 5am, here is a sunrise rising over Becher Bay, just on the shores of the Pacific.
Same place, different angle.. I just loved that morning. This is the edge of the shoreline, leaning into the Pacific ocean.
Later on in the day, a simple shot of the Pacific without the shoreline.
This would have been a beautiful shot, had the glare not produced that blue line. -.-
Just for the hell of it.. here's the backyard of my house! Nothing too flamboyant... if you don't count the dozens of bird feeders. ;)
Scary, eh?
Caught this sucker in Port Renfrew. It looked much prettier, in a realistic point of view.
Pacific Ocean + Mom = Soakage.
Taken from inside of Phil's RV. Note the huge trees in the background.
My mother and my step-dad, Phil, sitting in the Buchart Gardens, Victoria. Well.. I THINK that may be the Gardens... or, they may be on the mainland. I'm a bit confused over the location, but the picture is beautiful.
Nothing too exceptional. I just wanted to take a shot of the moon one night, through a vista of arbutus trees. (They never shed their leaves, but instead their bark.)
Well.. I think that's the name. Anyhoo, this was taken by my friend Chrissie, from her home. This is set in Duncan, where I moved to from New Waterford. I lived there for two years, before packing up and going to Victoria.
From my observations, BC's winters consist of rain, more or less. One night, a pile of snow fell.... and this was the result. It was all gone by the next day.
A little point from which people can pull aside from the highway, and look off across the water. It's found directly between Duncan and Victoria.
Taken over a quarry, in Metchosin. Those mountains are only little, compared to some of the others in B.C.
A beautiful little church, situated near Witty Lagoon. It was quite old, but well maintained and very peaceful. I just had to get some shots of it.
Decided to resize the picture above, and play with the sepia, and black & white settings. ^_^;
A final, fuller shot of the old church.
A lovely poem which was embedded on one of the graves, in the aforementioned churchyard.
In my small obsession with photographing the beauty of churches and cathedrals, I crawled my way into downtown Victoria to get this beauty. This is the Anglic Christ Church Cathedral... one of the most gorgeous things I've ever seen, inside and out. It was so huge, that I could not get it into my lens entirely.. in order to do that, I would have to run all the way to the end of the block, and hold the camera vertically. ^_^;;
This is the lower shot of the vestibule. The woman wearing the white, waving in front of it, is my mom. =)
See how tiny she is, in front of it...? This cathedral was HUGE. ^_~;
Moving up.. here is a closer shot of the entrance. The inscriptions reading;
"Jesus - Said * I - Am - Come - That - They - Might - Have - Life."
An altar shot of the CCC.. not the best quality, but the actual sight was gorgeous.
One of the big, beautiful stained glass windows in the cathedral. This one, I think, features all of the Disciples. Suspended high above the aisle.
As stated.. this final image of the CCC was taken within the hallways, just inside the vestibule. The architecture surely shows just how old this cathedral really is.
Taken from atop the 'Centre of the Universe'. Which is an observatory atop a mountain.
Took this shot from my deck... nice, full moon... with a rather pretty aura of light surrounding it. From plain sight, it looked like a rainbow... but, the camera didn't do it much justice.
Image taken from atop Mt. Doug, facing the Olympic Mountains, over in the U.S.
My dear Capers may be able to relate to, and cheer on the owner of this house! Situated just at the coastline of the Pacific. A lovely home.
Another Mt. Doug shot. I THINK... that is Port Angeles, U.S... off in the distance.
A little sailboat on a sunny day, taken from Saltspring Island.
Same place, different shot. Instead of a small sailboat.. now, we have a BC Ferry. I have no idea what it's trajectory was... maybe heading to Vancouver...?
Nothing too unusual. This was taken by my brother, Kris, when he was visiting out here for a week. The Inner Harbour at dusk. As you will see... my brother is VERY photogenic... hence, the next series of pics will highlight his visit. :)
Back in September of 2002, my older brother Kris visited B.C for the first time! This pic was taken as he was coming out of the arrival gate! It must've been an exciting moment...! why do I speak of this under an assumption...? Simple! I wasn't there! I was in the airport bathroom, and as luck would have it... THAT was the time my brother showed up. ^~; ... he still picks on me about that!

Now.. get this... my brother came out here on September 10th, 2002. The airports were kinda crazy, since it was a day before September 11th... a year since the terrorist attacks on the WTC. Well, what happened here was that there were reporters in and around Victoria International Airport, interviewing their thoughts on flying one day before the 11th. JUST as he left the airport with us, Kris was stopped by a reporter... and interviewed. Poor guy.. all jetlagged and half-asleep.. hehehe...

Kris being a loon. Taken at Mile '0', which is the VERY beginning... or the very end... of the Trans-Canada Highway. The other end in in Newfoundland. (Beginning, or end.. whatever you prefer.)
Anyhoo.. Kris decided to sit down, and act like he was some sort of confused tourist. :D
This was a big pic, so I had to copy and paste both ends of this picture together. This... is why you may be able to see a bit of a merging point, within this image. Anyhoo.. this was taken up at Fort Rodd, with my brother posing behind an anti-aircraft gun. o_O;
A nice pic that I managed to snap of Phil, Mom and Kris sitting on the rocks, near a small waterfall we visited in Goldstream. I really like this one.
I love this pic, too. Taken of Kris, standing in front of the aforementioned waterfall.

There were these stairs that led up from the small waterfall, where the four of us were relaxing. Lots.. of FREAKIN'.. /stairs/. So... my brother and I decided to make light of the situation, and act like we died from climbing the bloody things. ^_^;
Personally, this is one of my favorite pictures that was taken of Kris and I. Back in September of 2002 (old pic; I still had a ponytail. ^^; ), during his visit to B.C, my stepdad captured this shot of the two of us upon the summit of the mountain with Victoria stretching out in the distance. This pic is actually MUCH larger, but I had to shrink it so it wouldn't eat up space on this site. ^^;
Here's the oh-so photogenic one, posing on the coastline of Dallas Road, with the Olympics in the background. :)
... Cape Breton! Here we have Kris, atop Mt. Douglas... with Mt. Baker in the background.
Here's my bro again, only in front of the Parliament Buildings at night. Sadly, the quality of this picture isn't very good. Coloring is off.
... never piss off my brother again! Kris, as of October of 2003, went off to Quebec for basic training/bootcamp. He enlisted into the Canadian Air Force, where his technical skills will truly be able to flourish in the years following. This picture is awesome; Kris is crouching, in full uniform, with a firearm in hand. At first, I couldn't believe this was him! How the years have passed... he looks like a model soldier! I'm so proud of him! His graduation from basic is set for December 11th, 2003! (As I add this image, it's currently November 29th, 2003!)
Bootcamp Kris again, shortly after getting his hair buzzed! If it wasn't the uniform that threw me for a loop, it was THIS picture! My brother's hair was like... one of his trademarks! Hahahaha... we called him Kramer, for a short time. Here he is with one of his buddies, Robbie, sipping back a cold one prior to the bulk of his training.
A random shot of myself, when I... HAD... a ponytail! Taken on a hike with my step-dad, it's one of the /very/ few photogenic moments I had. The scenery on such a hike was gorgeous.*********
