Spectrum Graduation Ceremony of 2002- Images
Kill the midi!

Yes. Below are digital images of BOTH these events. There are only a select few, but I will be getting more from each category VERY soon. I apologize GREATLY for the quality of these images, as some may be too blurry.. or too sharp. Either way, they look pretty good.

Enjoy.. and try not to run away in fear at my strangeness. :)

***THE COWICHAN SECONDARY PROM OF 2002***

*********

For my Graduation year prom, I decided NOT to attend the one being thrown at the school I attended in Victoria. Spectrum is a really nice school, but I didn't feel too fond of celebrating a prom in a school which consisted of 90% strangers. So.. what did I do..? I travelled on back to Duncan where all of my friends are, and went to Cow High's prom/banquet! (May 18th.)

It was so much funner, because I had three of my best friends at my side and we basically had a blast. I'd have to say that Chrissy and I were having a great deal of fun getting dressed and made up. Even getting back to her house with our updo's, fearing that the wind would ruin them, was just one of the many obstacles. :)

***

"The car."
Well... to start things off, this is an image of the car that the four of us had taken to the Grade 12 banquet. Nice wheels, eh? 500 horsepower, nitro and dual exhaust. The loudest/coolest car at the prom and capable of moving even whilst idling!

"The four of us."
And here the four of us stand... in perfect height arrangements, too! Shortest to tallest... hahaha.. go figure.. I'm the shortest. ;)
Anyway, that's me to the far left with my date for that evening, Dan, to my right. Aside Dan is Chrissy..
(That dress was custom made! It kicks so much ass!>
To Chrissy's right is her boyfriend/date, Simon. I must admit, we all looked disturbingly sharp, in contrast to our normal dress codes. ^_^

"Getting dressed up is... exhausting."
T'was a long day, getting ready... but we both survived! This is an image of Chrissy and I, savouring the fact that we survived the bobby pins, make-up sticks and high heels. Chrissy seems waaaaaayyy taller, because she's a bit closer to the camera.

"The boys."
And of course.. here is Dan and Simon. They survived the fray as well, and look sharp. Good job, guys.

"Back shot."
The four of us out in the front yard, getting photos done by Chrissy's parents. This shows Dan and Simon in the background, getting photographed by Chrissy's dad. While it also shows what the back of our updo's looked like.

"Simon."
That had to be one of the best tuxedos I've ever seen. Simon sported a tux that was about 70 years old, and passed down from his grandfather. Had tails, a cane, a tophat... all the bells and whistles. He and Chrissy made such a cute pair that night.

"Chrissy."
Another kickass outfit! Here's Chrissy, posing also. She created the concept of her own dress, drew it, and her mother made it. That woman is a regular Martha Stewart. Anyway, the dress came out nicely. She looked very good in it. Good job, Chris!

"Dan."
Heeere's Dan. Unfortunately, his image didn't scan in very well. He had a pretty cool tux as well, with the stripes and such. I called him a Turk at one point in the evening, because his hair was tied back and he was wearing the suit. Hehehehe. The Turks are from Final Fantasy VII, and I just thought he looked like one. T'was pretty cool. Well done, Danno.

"Myself."
And here's myself, in my black dress! I really liked being dressed up that day, and spending time with a lot of friends made everything go smoothly. It was complicated to get down to Duncan, then get the hair done and smear on some make-up all in the next morning. But am I complaining? Hell no. It was worth it.

***THE SPECTRUM GRADUATION CEREMONIES OF 2002***

(Held at the University of Victoria)

***

About two weeks after the Prom, May 30th rolled around and it was time for one of the final steps in the grade 12 year. The Graduation.

Spectrum was holding it's ceremonies a BIT earlier then usual, and my walkup was scheduled in May, rather then late June. It was very lovely, although I admit that I was likely the most stressed person there. It was somewhat sad, since I didn't have my friends with me and I was terrified... but the evening went smoothly, and my parents were there. That's what made it better. Also, no caps and gowns were required for the occasion.

Nonetheless, I'm proud of this event. It made me realize just how far I've come along, over these 14 years of education. (Including Preschool. ;) )

*********

"The auditorium."
This was where the ceremonies were being held. In the auditorium of the University of Victoria (UVIC.)
The freak ascending the stairs in the white peasant blouse is yours truly. Be warned.. LARGE pic. Will take time to load.

"The walk-up."
Here I am making the walk across the stage to receive my diploma. At that time, I was shaking hands with my English teacher, Mrs. Ross. My god, I'm short. Really bad quality on this image. Horrible.

"The walk-up - another shot."
TERRIBLY blurry. I'm still on that freakin' stage... striking a pose with my diploma.

"Mom and I."
This picture was taken after the ceremonies, atop Mt. Tolmie. That is the city of Victoria in the background. Aside me is my mother. :)

"Same location, ol' switcharoo."
Taken in the same spot. Only that's my stepdad, Phil, aside me. :)

"The preliminary grad photo."
My graduation photo! God, I look stoned. The scan job is absolutely horrible.. but eh... better than nothing. Had to remove some scripture from it's side... and ended up taking out a piece of my hair by accident.. guh.... it was a cowlick, anyway. ;P
(AEEEI! I look pink!)

"Another grad photo.. only.... not mine!"
After prosperous years in UCCB.. my brother, Kris, also graduated this year! With a Bachelor of Technology Information degree in his pocket, he's ready to take over the world. I'll ALWAYS be proud of you bro, and this is a huge achievement you have made... in what will be a life of many more. Love you!

"Another grad!"
And lest we forget another who graduated this year.... being... one of my best friends, Chrissy! It's obvious that she is quite music oriented, too. Great job, girl! I'm proud of ya'.

"A trip down memory lane..."
And.. just for the hell of it.. and for nostalgia purposes on my behalf... a picture of myself as a youngin'.. on my FIRST day of school! HORRIBLE scan job... /really/ sorry.
*siii~iiigh*...
God, how strange it feels to see this.. and then realize that it's all over. Time flies, eh? ^_^;
